Clergy & Laity Discipleship

This comprehensive leader's guide contains five two-hour teaching sessions designed for the Lay Servant Ministries course "Mission Possible 3: Lay Servants Leading and Governing Congregations with Simplified Accountable Structure." Through Simple Accountable Governance, clergy and laity are set free to lead with full accountability to Jesus' Great Commission and the Charge Conference of the congregation. This advanced course with a leader's guide by Kay Kotan and Blake Bradford, co-authors of Impact: Reclaiming the Call of Lay Ministry, adapts the rich insights of their books, Mission Possible 3: A Simple Structure for Missional Effectiveness and Mission Possible for the Small Church, into a new 10-hour advanced course that emphasizes lay leadership structured for maximum missional impact.

KAY KOTAN, PCC, is the director of Congregational Development for the Susquehanna Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, and she has a passionate approach to teaching, consulting, and coaching. As one called to serve from a laity role, she offers a unique perspective for church and leadership development that is informed by her diverse background serving in corporate America, owning her own businesses, lay leadership in the local church, traveling the nation as an author and speaker, and now serving as a conference director. Kay is married to Bob Kotan, and they have an adult son, Cameron.

Blake Bradford, D.Min., is a consultant and pastor who served nearly a decade as a district superintendent and conference staff member. He equips congregations and denominational leaders in governance and ministry impact while serving as lead pastor of Fort Smith First United Methodist Church, a multi-site congregation in Arkansas.
